The drawing of St Thomas a Becket Church at Fairfield is one of a series of drawings of Romney Marsh churches done last year, following in the footsteps of John Piper and others including Michael Renton. So far I have covered East Guldeford, Snave, Snargate, New Romney and St Mary in the Marsh. The churches were all started by 1100, with later additions. In the case of Fairfield there are 18th century box pews in the interior. The Romney Marsh Churches Trust seeks to preserve the fabric of these wonderful and timeless buildings.
